After quite a grand impact on viewers at the opening, with a rating of 5.3, the third season of ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ seems to be losing its charm. OMS and Hansa Research have come up with the answer to the question that was on everyone’s lips.
According to the study, 25 per cent of the viewers of the first episode dropped off in the following episodes. Of all the viewers, only 44 per cent watched all three episodes of ‘KBC 3’. While 25 per cent watched only the first episode, 30 per cent watched two episodes.
According to aMap ratings (C&S, 4+, north, west and east India), the rating on the second airing of the show was 4.8, which further slipped to 3.5 on the third day. The detailed analysis on the falling viewership trend for the game show suggests that, from among those who watched the first episode and missed out on the next two, 40 per cent were of the opinion that ‘KBC’ was not the same without Amitabh Bachchan, while a majority of 60 per cent had other reasons.
Of those who missed the third episode, 42 per cent cited the India-West Indies match as their reason for missing it; only 3 per cent people said they had better programmes to watch in that time slot.
SRK’s charm and wit ruled television on the first day, but a majority of the viewers seemed to miss former host Amitabh Bachchan. What the ratings also substantiate is the viewers’ love for cricket, irrespective of India's not-so-impressive performance. Source agencyfaqs
